A little bit of Shakespeare
Today is the end of a busy week and a half of travel, concerts and parades! Last weekend saw some nice concerts both in Bremen and Köln with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen where I played the Overture to Shakespeare's Midsummernight's Dream by Mendelssohn. The Shakespeare theme was then continued on Tuesday night when I had the privilege of hearing the fantastic Stockholm Chamber Brass in concert in the Shummanfest in Düsseldorf. They played some fantastic music in a very classy concert and were accompanied by an actor who joined the group to recite some of Shakespeare's lyrics whilst accompanied by some Renaissance dances. Eigelstein Brass also held a small preview of our concert programme for our September tour to Portugal, which was attended by several friends of the group. Today was a holiday in Köln and the surrounding area, however it was not for many brass musicians, as many of us were taking part in the annual Corpus Christi day. I played with a brass quartet performing some music in the mass and the parade that followed. After some brief hours of enjoying the fantastic summer weather in Köln I have now spent the last few hours working on a business plan for an exciting up and coming project. More to be revealed shortly on this... More news soon! F
