A summary of July and some new music

These past few weeks have been busy with several concerts with World Brass. We performed to some fantastic audiences in some incredible venues around Germany and it was a pleasure as always to play with such lovely people and fantastic musicians. This week I have commissioned Richard Greer, a composer friend who I studied with in Glasgow, to write a short solo tuba piece. He is looking for other instruments as well for his exciting project called FLIGHTPLANS. More information can be found on the Scottish Music Centre's website here. Richard's personal website can be found at www.composergreer.co.uk. Please go and check it out, and if you can, contact Richard about getting a piece done! This coming week sees me travelling north to Bremen to cover for a friend's ensemble called "Follow Me!" who are a walking act performing pop tunes and leading processions. We have a small 15 minute set 6 times on the 14. August. After this I fly off for a well overdue holiday in Canada for three weeks, before we start with the quintet again in September getting ready for our Portugal tour. More News Soon. F
