In the Airport

Hello again! After a few weeks' break I am now back in Germany and ready to go with the new season! It couldn't start in much of a better way as I am currently sitting in the airport with my quintet preparing to fly off to Portugal for a week of concerts and workshops (there might also be some sun bathing and swimming too...). The rehearsal phase was short and extremely productive, and I am looking forward to premiering one of my new arrangments of Dave Brubeck's "Unsquare Dance." I even get to play woodblock in this piece, so it has been nice revisiting my percussion skills and dusting off my drum sticks for the sake of 20 bars or so! I am also enjoying the ongoing email exchanges with Richard over my piece, and am looking very much forward to premiering that at some time in the not-too-distant future.
