Brahms Recording
This week I had the privilege of recording Brahms' Academic Festive and Tragic Overtures with Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in the beautiful Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Germany for Sony Classics. Having last year recorded the Second Symphony with the orchestra my work is now done and I eagerly await the final results when the CD is released in the coming season. F

I am excited to announce a new collaboration with composer, educator and conductor Iain Masson. Iain is based in Birmingham, UK and plays an active important part in the local music scene. A fellow tuba player, Iain is going to write a set of miniatures for the instrument, which Iain and I hope to perform together both in the UK and Germany. Mahler Lieder
I am currently in the process of arranging Mahler's beautiful Rückert Lieder for my quintet Eigelstein Brass and the fantastic mezzo-soprano Brynne McLeod who currently works in the Tiroler Landestheater, Innsbruck, Austria. It is not often that brass ensembles are given the opportunity to show off their lighter and subtler musical side, but I am finding this selection of songs a perfect opportunity to both add to the brass quintet repertoire and also to develop the sound of
